Devotion is a means of realizing God directly through love. Goddess worship is one form of devotion. This contemplative path is the Christian meditation taught by Jesus. Prayer to the Holy Spirit should be one of surrender and love. Gods love is Jesus love is Buddha love. Bhakti yoga or bhakti marga lead one to union with the Divine. Prayer is like meditation in that it brings the mind to one pointedness. Contemplative prayer brings us to know divine love. Sincere effort is needed to experience God directly. Pagan prayer is also very effective prayer because it is love that is the goal as opposed to any particular form of God. The ecstasy that a bhakta or practitioner of bhakti feels is equal to Samadhi. God's love is unconditional love and that is also our goal. Finding love for God is the most important goal a human being can embrace.
