Love is the both the vehicle and the goal in the practice of bhakti or devotion. Bhakti yoga or bhakti marga lead one to union with the Divine. Daily devotions are practiced to enter into bhakti. Bhakti is a Sanskrit word which means devotion to God. The ecstasy that a bhakta or practitioner of bhakti feels is equal to Samadhi. Gods love is Jesus love is Buddha love. Love of God is the beginning of wisdom. Sincere effort is needed to experience God directly. The heart of worship is to know that God is love. Meditation techniques are used to uncover the wellspring of divine love. Contemplative prayer brings us to know divine love. Finding love for God is the most important goal a human being can embrace. Devotion is a means of realizing God directly through love. Effective prayer brings us to the center of the heart where we find God. Meditation on the form of God we prefer with love is what brings us to the goal. God's love is unconditional love and that is also our goal. Knowing God is attained by loving God. Devotions to Father Divine or Mother Divine are the same. This contemplative path is the Christian meditation taught by Jesus. The benefits of meditation on God's love are many. Love of God transforms the negative tendencies in our own minds releasing the river of infinite love.
